Wu Shaoqing (Peter Wu) | contemporary abstract painter

He was born in Zhejiang in 1960, a native of Yueqing Wenzhou.

Living in Shanghai and Wenzhou,

Advanced study At the China Academy of Art, he was awarded the outstanding artist award of North American Asian artists association.

Currently:

Member of the world Chinese Artists Association

Member of Zhejiang branch of Chinese Artists Association

In the late 70s, he began to create and participate in exhibitions, in order to learn the art inspiration from nature, he traveled all over the country for sketching alone.

In the middle of 90s, he went deep into the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang many times and immersed himself in the ancient oriental mysticism aesthetics.

In the late 90s, he began to study the eastern and western aesthetics, and created a group of modern abstract style works, the representative works of this period are: "Light and Shadow Series", "Earth Series".

The representative works from the beginning of twenty-first Century including: State Series, Awakening Series and Overflow Scenery Series, etc..

The recent works of the Three Realms series, inspired by the aesthetic consciousness is concrete, and images contained in the abstraction. Works through their artistic symbols, showed the vivid vast and fantastic pictures, trying to reach a clear feeling of soul. Wu Shaoqing's works cannot be said to be philosophical profundity and indescribable, but have entered the empty, relieved of link with heaven and earth, can feel emptiness of Zen in the works.

2007 the art studio was set up in Jinxiu Road, Pudong, Shanghai, and the International Art Fair (Beijing, China).

2009 "Viva Art Icon.China" Chinese art competition (Beijing, China)

2010 settled in "Tian Zifang painter village" at Taikang Road, Puxi, Shanghai,  set up art studio, held a solo exhibition.

2012 the national art joint exhibition of nine provinces (Shanghai and other provinces, China)

2013 he traveled to American for art investigation and exchange (New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Santiago, etc.).
